When you think of your "dream school" what pops into your mind? Growing up I never put much thought into what college I would attend. I knew what I wanted to do as a profession, but I just knew I had to graduate high school and then get at least a bachelor's degree. Well, when it came down to looking at colleges I knew that I had to select a school that would benefit me and prepare me for the world ahead. I toured several colleges, such as NC State, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forrest. Being a resident of High Point, I never imagined I would attend High Point University. Mostly, due to the fact that the school was no where near a top-tier school whenever I was growing up. After giving in to take a tour, and I LOVED IT.

I was sold immediately, for multiple reasons like: the millions of dollars spent on building to make the place look like a resort, the attention to detail in order to please parents and students, a lot of gifts, small class sizes, tuition includes everything will need to pay for, and most importantly, they hold themselves to a motto of "Every student receives an extraordinary education, in an inspiring environment with caring people."

I am currently on my second semester, of my freshman year at High Point University. This semester, I am taking Business Calculus, English, Spanish II, and The Pentateuch. Although they are general education credits, I still enjoy every single class I have taken so far. Fortunately for me, whenever I have a subject that I don't like very much, the professor's personality almost always improved the feel of the class. I found it amazing how, someone could take a subject that everyone has a distaste for, and make me look forward to attending that class as much as possible.

My first semester at HPU was a blast! Although it was my first semester of college, which is very stressful, I loved every class I had and loved the professors who taught those classes even more. I enrolled in First Year Seminar, History, Spanish I, President's Seminar, and History of American Music. Every day of the semester to me was a positive experience. From making good friends with the staff, to overall enjoying the classes content, there was no complaints from me.
